How to get from Dublin Airport to your Accommodation

Nov 13 How to get from Dublin Airport to your Accommodation

Posted In: News

This article lists all the transportation options available to you on arrival at Dublin Airport. Dublin Airport is not served by a rail link so the options are bus, taxi or private transfer.

Bus 747 (Airlink).

The cheapest option is the public bus which is €6 oneway to the city centre and stops on O’Connell street which is the main street in Dublin.  The Bus 747 (Airlink) – Departs from outside Terminal 1 & Terminal 2, every 15 minutes. Cost EUR 6.00 per person. Route: From Dublin Airport to Dublin City Centre, stopping at different City Centre locations along the way, e.g. O’Connell Street (Dublin’s main street), Busarus Bus Station (bus station serving the provincial towns and cities of Ireland), Temple Bar Area. Average journey is 30 minutes, up to 55 minutes during rush hour. Service is available: 06.00 – 23.30hrs Monday to Saturday, 07.00 – 23.20hrs Sunday. Remember if you are staying with a host family you will need to take a second bus /or train from Dublin City Centre back to the location of your host family. Taxi Service

Taxi’s from Dublin Airport to Dublin City Center cost approximately €30 depending on traffic. However, most host families are living in the north east suburbs, so the taxi should cost only €25.00 (depending on traffic conditions). Taxi’s are located just outside the main door of the Airport, taxis are available 24 hrs. Taxi’s are licensed and regulated. You are entitled to a printed receipt at the end of your journey  (by Irish Law), so remember to always ask for the printed receipt. The cost of your journey will be clearly displayed on the taxi meter throughout your journey. The taxi drivers name and licence number are also displayed within the cab and on the printed receipt.  You will not be hassled by unregulated drivers or other persons offering transfer services. The Taxi Service is well run and is relatively easy to take a taxi from Dublin Airport to your accommodation.

Horner School – Airport Transfer Service

The third option is to pre book a private transfer from Dublin Airport to your accommodation.  The Horner School of English transfer service from Dublin Airport to host family or alternative accommodation costs €70.00 for an arrival transfer and €70.00 for a departure transfer. Students booking this extra service will be met by a representative of the school and transferred to their accommodation. The meeting point for all transfers is the information desk in the main arrivals hall of Dublin airport. Your driver will carry a sign with you name clearly indicated and will meet you as you exit customs into the main arrivals hall.  Don’t  worry  if your flight is delayed (or early) as we track all flights and will be there when you land at no additional cost.
