The TOEIC Examination

TOEIC means Test of English for International Communication is a test to evaluate non-native speakers of English to communicate in an English speaking or International work environment. Over 4000 companies use TOEIC as an effective tool for personnel management, selection and further training.

The test comprises of 200 multiple choice questions divided between Listening and Reading sections and lasts 2.5 hours (including test and administration of paper).

Listening Section: 45 minutes duration, consists of 100 questions based on four types ? statements, questions, conversations and talks in real-life situations, for example, recorded telephone conversations, travel announcements, etc

Reading Section: 75 minutes duration, 100 questions taken from authentic situations such as travel documents or business letters where you read the passage and select the correct answers. In addition the reading section contains sentences where words need to be corrected and sentences where missing words must be selected.

Scoring: The score for the Listening Section and the Reading Section are added together, total scores show the following:

Novice	10 - 250
Elementary	255 - 400
Intermediate	405 - 600
Basic Working Proficiency	605 - 780
Working Proficiency	785 - 900
General Professional Proficiency	905 - 990

TOEIC PREPARATION If you are interested in preparing for the TOEIC examination then then the most appropriate course which we provide is the Standard Plus Business Course (26 lessons). In addition once you register to take the exam we will include two hours, one afternoon prior to each exam date above to familiarise you with the format and timing of the examination, plus a short "mock examination" for practice.
