From 19 July, Ireland will operate the EU Digital COVID Certificate (DCC) for travel.  Passengers arriving into Ireland with the Digital Covid Certificate will not need to quarantine after arrival. It is important to understand that your Digital Covid Certificate must certify at least one of the following:

  • You have been vaccinated against COVID-19 (with an EU approved vaccine).
  • You have recovered from COVID-19 (within the last 6 months).
  • You have received a negative PCR test result (PCR test must be taken no more than 72 hours before arrival).

If you do not have the accepted Digital Covid Certificate, you then you must then show a negative PCR test to be able to travel into Ireland (PCR test to be taken no more than 72 hours before arrival).

Children aged between 7 and 18 who have not been vaccinated must have a negative PCR test (test to be taken no more than 72 hours before arrival)

A passenger who has been in a non-EU/EEA country in the 14 days prior to arrival into Ireland will be subject to the rules applying to that country.

We have written a more detailed FAQ page on the new regulations which you can find here: https://www.hornerschool.com/faq-items/digital-covid-certificate-travelling-to-ireland/
