A professional development course for academic staff, Erasmus+ course in Dublin: This course includes methodology and language training for teachers who use English in the classroom or need to teach through the medium of English.
25 Lessons Per Week (20 Group & 5 Private/Shared)
Horner School of English Dublin, Ireland
09.30 to 13.10, Monday to Friday (Standard Course)
14.00 – 16.05, Two afternoons per week (5 private/ or shared lessons)
A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 - Elementary to Advanced
Morning Class, Max 14 International Students (Average 10)
Afternoon lessons are either private or shared lessons.
This course is typically booked for 1 or 2 weeks and can be commenced every Monday, all year round. Individual bookings & small groups accepted.
Erasmus+ for Teachers- English Course in Dublin (For Teachers)
The Erasmus+ English Course for Academic Staff, provides internationally mixed group lessons in the mornings with 5 private (or shared) lessons in the afternoons. The morning class (Standard Course with 20 lessons) aims to improve your overall competence in general English skills. The afternoon lessons are tailored to your specific requirements relating to methodology. You will be asked to complete a needs analysis questionnaire before arrival, to finalise the content for your afternoon course.
During the afternoon lessons you might wish to focus on a number of particular topics, as listed below.

Going digital: Using technology in the classroom.
Going digital: Getting the most out of online tools.
Creating conditions for learning, room layouts, learner motivation and participation.
Course planning and review methods. Feedback, testing and evaluation.
Suggested methods for teaching the four language skills.
Language teaching methodologies.
Teaching mixed ability classes.
Teaching examination courses.
Accuracy v fluency, common errors and false friends.
The Irish Educational System.
Developing new lesson ideas for using English in the Classroom.
New ideas for teaching young learners.
Using the CLIL Method, Content and Language Integrated Learning.

Tuition on this Course is – 25 lessons per week with a morning & afternoon timetable – Monday to Friday.
Welcome Pack is included with maps of the city and other important information.
Use of the Self Access Library is included
Free Wi-Fi Internet access throughout main school building is included
Level assessment on arrival and graded end of course certificate is included
Use of the Student Coffee Room is included
Use of the Garden Area is included
We provide full administrative backup, including a dedicated accommodation officer and an academic director to oversee your progression. Each lesson is equal to 50 mins. Course Textbooks are available at the school. Monday is the starting day for all courses. When Monday is a public holiday, Tuesday is the starting day.
