You can take the TOEIC® Institutional Reading & Listening Test here at the Horner School in Dublin City, without taking an English Language Course. We offer a test date every month, usually on the the first Friday of each month.
More than 10,000 organisations in 120 countries throughout the world trust the TOEIC test to determine English language skills. Most universities and large international companies accept TOEIC test results as proof of your English Language ability.
The Test of English for International Communication is produced by ETS (Educational Testing Service).
TOEIC test questions are based on real-life situations in a work related environment (meetings, travel, telephone conversations, etc).
About the TOEIC Test in Dublin?
The Listening and Reading test takes about 2.5 hours and is taken at Horner School of English (40 Fitzwilliam Street Upper, D2, Dublin City. On arrival at the Horner School you must show your passport and sign your name on the test registration documents. You will then be shown to your table, the test invigilator will explain the test rules and test instructions. The TOEIC test will then begin with a series of listening tasks and associated questions to check your understanding. The test eventually moves on to the reading section with a series of reading comprehension and picture related questions. It is a relatively simple test to complete as all questions are in the form of a multiple choice answer. However it is very important to remain focused on the task and to work quickly in order to keep up with the pace of the questions.
What about scores?
The TOEIC Reading and Listening gives a score between 10 and 990:
- 905 – 990 International Proficiency
- 785 – 900 Working Proficiency Plus
- 605 – 780 Limited Working Proficiency
- 405 – 600 Elementary Proficiency Plus
- 255 – 400 Elementary Proficiency
- 185 – 250 Memorised Proficiency
- 10 – 180 No Useful Proficiency
