What is the minimum age at Horner School?

The minimum age at Horner school is 18 years, however it is important to note that the average age-group in Horner School is actually 25 to 30 years.

We design English language classes to follow the very best principles of adult learning and course design.  Students are actively involved and can influence the course delivery. How does Horner School of English establish the language level for classes?

At Horner School of English, the student grading process prior to arrival is distinctive in that it comprises two key components:

Step1 Online Grading Test: After booking their course, students are required to complete an online grading test, which takes approximately 30 minutes. This test assesses their current level of English proficiency.
Step 2 Online Speaking Assessment via TEAMS: Approximately four weeks before arrival, students schedule an online speaking assessment conducted through Microsoft TEAMS with one of the school’s teachers.

The combination of these assessments allows the school to determine each student’s class level accurately before they arrive in Dublin. This proactive approach enables the Horner School to plan timetables and organize classes that best fit the students’ needs, ensuring a smooth start to their English language learning experience.
