Cambridge ESOL Certificates

A wide choice of certificates for those beginning to learn English. These exams are recognised around the world by thousands of employers, universities and government ministries as proof of ability to use English. The certificates never expire and do not need to be renewed, they are an achievement for life!

Some examples of the organisations and governments around the world accepting Cambridge Certificates:

Governments of Australia, Canada, China, The Netherlands, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA.
Healthcare organisations including Australian Medical Council, General Medical Council (UK), International Commission on Healthcare Professions (ICHP) (USA), NHS (UK), Registered Nurses Association of British Columbia (Canada).

FCE – First Certificate in English

Why Take the FCE Exam?	It tests your English Level with an emphasis on General Language Skills. This is one of the most well known English language examinations and is widely accepted by employers worldwide.
What English Level do I Need ?	FCE is aimed at people who can use everyday written and spoken English at an upper intermediate level.
What papers will I sit?	There are 5 papers, taken on two separate days; papers 1-4 are taken one day and paper 5 on another day: Paper 1: Reading 1 hour Paper 2: Writing 1 hours and 20 min. Paper 3: Use of English 45 min Paper 4: Listening 40 min Paper 5: Speaking 14 min
How to prepare	By attending our Cambridge Preparation Course (26 lessons) at FCE level. Students attend a 12 week course to prepare for each of the MAIN Exam dates i.e. March, June & December Exams. 4 week preparation courses run in the Summer, to prepare students to sit July & August Exam dates. The starting dates for all the FCE courses are listed on the course page.
Where is the Exam taken?	Registrations for the examination are *made through the school* approximately 12 weeks prior to the examination. Exams held: March, June, July, August & December.

CAE – Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English

Why Take the CAE Exam?	It tests your English Level with an emphasis on General Language Skills. This is one of the most well known English language examinations and is widely accepted by employers worldwide.
What English Level do I Need ?	CAE is an exam for advanced users of English. This exam is aimed at people who can use written and spoken English for most professional and social purposes.
What papers will I sit?	There are five papers, taken on two separate days. Papers 1-4 are taken one day and paper 5 on another. Paper 1: Reading 1 hour 15 min Paper 2: Writing 1 hour 30min Paper 3: English in Use 1 hour Paper 4: Listening 40 min Paper 5: Speaking 15 min
